As 2022 winds down, Benjamin Moore recently announced the 2023 Color of the Year.  Coming off of the soft tones of last year’s October Mist, they made a bold choice with Raspberry Blush.

Raspberry Blush is a vibrant and energetic soft red, and is a departure from the neutrals that we have seen in the previous years. People are craving joy in their lives and personal spaces, and color is a great way to create a mood. Shades like Raspberry Blush warm the home and the soul. It’s vibrance nearly sings off the walls and creates a statement, but isn’t as heavy as the reds we’ve seen in the past. It works well as a all-over color in a small space like a powder room or breakfast nook to inject a bit of vivacious optimism or as an accent wall to create a striking focal wall. If it feels too vibrant for your walls, you can add just a touch of it’s joyful color with pillows, dishes, artwork, rugs, and more.

Benjamin Moore has curated a palette of trend colors that are bold and dramatic. They recommend pairing these head-turning colors with soft and calming neutrals. Our homes are not only our sanctuaries but have also become our offices and classrooms. After spending more time indoors, “People are ready to bring color back into the home, taking a step outside their color comfort zones,” according to Andrea Magno, color marketing and development director at Benjamin Moore.

As a fun collaboration, the musical duo Chromeo released a new song appropriately titled “Raspberry Blush”.  The song “celebrates the positivity and enjoyment of life that both color and music can influence,” according to a Benjamin Moore press release. Benjamin Moore has also curated mood boosting playlists for each trend color so you can create an immersive vibe.

Raspberry Blush can be utilized in nearly every room of the house.  It’s lively tone warms and energizes, making a space both happy and cheerful. It’s good to see a bolder tone back after the more neutral colors have dominated the last few years.
